so i log onn just now to find a note from somebody and me being me im immeditely interested to find out who sent me a note i go t the note to find out that 4 of my halo 3 screenshots have been move to the scraps! I mean yeah sure this site is meant to be an art site and all but in technicality isnt a photo the same thing in some sort of way a screenshot taken from a camera in a real life prespective but i bet i dont see them going into anyones scraps anytime soon...if dA had any knowledge whatsoever they would create a new area for screenshots for speciffically for games so they wouldnt wind up in such a crappy place where they go mostly unoticed...

just a note dA im here to get whatever work i upload here noticed and commeneted on not UNNOTICED thank you very much >_>

quite pissed of with this even uf they ARE only screenshots because two of them bring aumsement to some people mianly the two screenshots of the LAzy Bum Spartan and teh Lazy Bum Elite the elite screenshot having to be a fairly creative shot if dA is quite done messing people around i suggest they can get the fuck out and stop fussing over stupid fucking thing such as the 'wrong catagory for art'.....

Fuck dA if they gonna be like this i may take a permenant leave i mean they fuck people around with or without subbies even with their general support and they throw it back in our faces...whatever screw you im pissed off now

It's not dA just randomly moving your stuff around. Someone has to report it before they even touch it. You can always move the picture back to it's original category and put in the description why it should stay there in case it gets reported again. Chances are, the mods will leave it alone. They have a lot to do too without people screaming bloody murder because they did their job.

And take it from someone who's been here more than 5 years, stay here for the art and your friends and don't let a few tiny problems get in the way of that.

It probably got reported because usually what's considered gallery material on dA is something that you made from scratch or put so much work into that it no longer resembles the original. Hmm, I'm not really sure if what I'm saying is clear tho :shrug:

heh yeah...ive shifted the journal off my page anyhow so its not unsightly to anyone else it just find that a bit frastrating that they didnt report them all (which im going to say im glad that it didnt because i love that screenie i took and completely confuse what i just said lol) its just a shame...i just wish they created something for screenshots or something i know its an art site and all but you dont really see many place that people can comment on screenies because they are creative in their own way even if they aren't drawn...i wish whoever did this would at least warn me so i can expalin why they are there....oh well whats done is done...still gonna upload screenshots though not gonna stop me if they ban me then thats just stupid if you ask me...

If you have to put it under desktop>screenshots>other. And I guess, I can kinda understand what you're saying. I play burnout paradise a lot and have tons of pics that I took while playing the game. But while it took a lot of creative thinking for where I was in those pics, I don't consider it art because I can't take the credit for creating the game, being a part of its development, or anything like that. In the end, I'm just a player.

I believe that game screenshots belong either in scraps or not even on dA at all [I keep my BP pics on my LJ]. Putting them up here would just take up memory space that could be better used with an actual piece of art. There are gamer forums for that type of thing, where they will be appreciated a lot more than at dA. At most, you might be looking at maybe a dozen views a month, if even that.
